Las Vegas Home Invader Killed by Homeowner

If more people chose to protect their homes this way, the criminals would be less likely to commit their crimes. Who wants to risk their life for a few stolen trinkets?

Police said one of three men believed to have broken into a west Las Vegas home was killed after a homeowner opened fire at the group.

The homeowner fired at least one round at the suspects, prompting them to flee, according to Metro.

Police said one of the suspects, who was identified as a Latin male, was found with a gunshot wound and died at the scene.

Man helps stop bank robbery by merely displaying his weapon

Often, a firearm doesn’t even need to be drawn to be effective in stopping a crime from being committed. Usually, these events aren’t documented, but in this case, it was.

Flagstaff resident Dave Young said he was driving up to the Arizona Central Credit Union branch on North West Street shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday when he was puzzled by the sight of his friend, Michael Pileggi, detaining a woman.

He quickly noticed his friend’s son, Chase Pileggi, was also trying to stop a man as he jumped over a fence. Young said he quickly confirmed that a bank robbery had occurred and took off after the two in his vehicle.

Young caught up with the pair nearby and watched as Chase tackled the man. The younger Pileggi got the man in a hold and Young placed his hand on his sidearm, showing the suspect that he was armed. He did not pull his gun.

Gun carrying man ends stabbing spree at Salt Lake grocery store

Guns can be used to stop knife violence, too. In this instance, the CCW permit holder never had to fire a shot in order to end the violent stabbing spree.

A citizen with a gun stopped a knife wielding man as he began stabbing people Thursday evening at the downtown Salt Lake City Smith’s store.

Then, before the suspect could find another victim – a citizen with a gun stopped the madness. “A guy pulled gun on him and told him to drop his weapon or he would shoot him. So, he dropped his weapon and the people from Smith’s grabbed him.”

Woman shoots & kills would-be rapist with .22

Even a .22 can do the job. This 53 year old school counselor would have been at the mercy of a man that wanted to rape – and possibly kill – her, had she not been armed and prepared to protect herself.

The woman was getting out of the shower when she was met by a strange man with a kitchen knife, police said. They said there was a struggle in the bathroom, and she fell in the tub. Police later identified the man as Israel Perez Puentes, a Cuban national who lived in Alpharetta.

The woman tried to fight the man off with a shower a rod, and he forced her into her bedroom, police said. They said she told her attacker she had money in the room. But she grabbed a .22-caliber handgun and shot the man nine times, police said.

Police said the man ran out of a back door and collapsed in the yard. He later died at the Gwinnett Medical Center.
